To Bahrain, The Pearl of the Middle East

This autumn, NAMOW’s President & CEO, Tomomi Ito, traveled to the Kingdom of Bahrain — often called the Pearl of the Middle East due to its historically rich and prominent natural pearl industry.

During the visit, she met with Her Excellency Ambassador Asako Okai at the Embassy of Japan in Bahrain, as well as with local institutions and companies. Together, they exchanged ideas about how Japan and Bahrain can deepen business ties, expand cultural exchange, and explore new opportunities in beauty and wellness.

The conversations were inspiring. We received valuable insights on future collaboration, and we were reminded once again of the warmth and sincerity of the Bahraini people. Thanks to the hospitality of Ambassador Okai, the Embassy staff, and our local partners, the trip became much more than a business mission — it was a chance to truly experience the spirit of Bahrain.

Beyond official meetings, we also connected with several local companies to discuss market trends and potential partnerships. Bahrain impressed us with its forward‑thinking approach: economic diversification, strong support for women’s participation, and encouragement of startups. Its modern cityscape, combined with heartfelt hospitality, left a lasting impression.

At NAMOW, we believe in delivering Made in Japan quality and spirit with care. As we continue to build bridges between Japan and the Middle East, Bahrain will remain a key partner in shaping meaningful collaborations.

A Personal Note

Bahrain is a beautiful and peaceful country. We hope more people from Japan will visit, discover its rich culture, and feel the kindness of its people.
